City Dynamics’ CEO Haseet Sanghrajka has just returned from Microsoft’s Directions EMEA partner conference in Madrid. Here’s what he learnt on what’s coming next from Microsoft.

There’s now one Dynamics 365 edition for all businesses

In the past, there were two separate editions: Microsoft 365 Enterprise and Microsoft 365 Business Edition. Smaller organisations were recommended the Busines Edition, whilst larger companies were sold the Enterprise Edition. The new simplified solution combines both, ensuring businesses can choose exactly the right level of capability and functionality, picking what they need to suit their business. Small businesses often have sophisticated requirements, and small companies may grow quickly into larger companies. Creating one product for businesses ensures that a company’s system can grow with it – with no need to alter the licensing agreement or waste time and money upgrading the system down the line.

A new mid-market sized SAAS financials product is coming in Spring 2018

Microsoft will release a ‘full-flavoured’ cloud-based financials product with mid-market capability next Spring available on a SAAS model. This product will have the benefit of a fully developed ERP solution with the benefits of a cloud deployment, combined with a range of mature add-ons from the Dynamics ISV channel to help fit the solution to your exact needs.

So long, data silos! One platform will integrate apps and data

A new, single connected platform will ensure that data from different Dynamics 365 apps can be shared and is available to users across the business. This has big implications for how customers can see and use data. It will smash data silos and significantly improve information sharing and transparency for businesses.
