At their annual partner conference, Inspire, Microsoft announces some of the most important upcoming releases of new products, as well as updates for their existing products. At this year’s event in Las Vegas, Microsoft has announced that the next update for their recently released Dynamics 365 Business Central solution would enable users to fully integrate their new cloud-based financial solution with the Intelligent Edge.
The ability to integrate Business Central within the Intelligent Edge system will allow users to fully connect their online and offline data, in line with Microsoft’s Common Data System (CDS).
This announcement is some fantastic news for those users for whom a full migration from an on-premise to cloud solution is simply unrealistic, or too big a step to take at this point in time.
Access Business Central’s powerful ERP functionality on multiple devices
Perhaps the greatest advantage of this update for users will be having access to Business Central’s vast range of financial functionalities on multiple, remote devices. Until now, this had not been possible for users working with cloud-based solutions.
Business Central’s integration with the Intelligent Edge will allow users to maintain an on-premise solution, whilst also having full remote access from any location. The benefits of being able to access your solution remotely are endless, such as allowing a company’s ability to effectively deliver the service that its clients expect to be delivered remotely, from anywhere and at any time.
In all, this announcement is an exciting demonstration of Microsoft’s commitment to creating a true CDS, where all Microsoft solution users are connected and capable of sharing information seamlessly.
Full access to powerful artificial intelligence
One of the key stand-out benefits of Microsoft Dynamics is its fully integrated, powerful artificial intelligence (AI) functionality. This AI integration allows users to create their own solutions to boost productivity, using automation-led tools such as Microsoft PowerApps and Microsoft Flow. The announcement of Business Central’s connection to the Intelligent Edge provides a new level of AI potential for users.
Through Business Central’s connection to the Intelligent Edge, now users operating on the on-premise solution will also be able to benefit from this elevated level of automation. Additionally, users will also have the option of connecting their offline and online hosted data to form one comprehensive, intelligent solution.
What does the future hold for Dynamics 365 Business Central?
Although Business Central was only released in April 2018, there has already been a great deal of development around the solution. Microsoft is committed to providing the users of their solutions with an unprecedented potential to fully integrate, communicate and access their data, without limitation of device or location. As the Microsoft Intelligent Edge continues to evolve, so too does the functionality of the Dynamics 365 solutions, including Business Central.
It is inevitable that as the potential of AI grows, Business Central will continue to provide new, intelligent functionalities. The future for Business Central is bright, with the potential to power the success and growth of the businesses who take advantage of what it has to offer.
